Support the SMOB.

In the wake of the proposed legal action against the Howard County Board of Education regarding the Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB), we have created a petition to show the community how much we believe in the Student Member position and student voice in general. 

We support the right of the SMOB to vote on HCPSS policy matters and to represent the voice of the students on the decisions that affect us in our daily lives. More broadly, we support student voice in our school system as a driving force for change and to ensure students have a stake in their education.

Signers of the petition also have the option to include a personal statement of support or tell their story regarding student voice. Anyone can sign and submit a statement, including current and former HCPSS students, Former Howard County SMOBs, Current and Former Statewide SMOBs, HCPSS Staff, HCPSS Parents and Community Members, Public Officials, and more!
