Get to Know the Final 2022-23 SMOB Candidates

Abisola Ayoola and Oliver Song - both from Wilde Lake high School - were chosen as final candidates for the 2022-23 Student Member of Board at the the HCASC Convention, held March 22, 2022. One hundred thirty-eight student delegates, nominated by their principals and peers to represent each middle and high school across the Howard County Public School System, attended the convention. Nine students competed, from which Ayoola and Song were chosen as finalists.

The new SMOB will serve as a member of the Howard County Board of Education during the 2022-2023 school year. They will be eligible to vote on all issues except those pertaining to budget, personnel, or other restricted matters.

All 6th-11th grade HCPSS students are eligible to vote in this year’s SMOB election. Students will cast their votes in Canvas during the school day.
