Student Member of the Board Convention Wednesday March 20, 2024
HCASC students will lead a convention engaging student delegates representing every middle and high school in accordance with Policy 2010 Implementation Procedures - Student Representation - on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Delegates will review the Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB) applicants and nominate the final two candidates who will run for the SMOB position. To learn more about the SMOB Convention, watch this student created video from the 2019 Convention SMOB Convention.

Student Member of the Board Final Candidate Training March 21, 2024
Final Candidates will participate in mandatory candidate and campaign team training in accordance with Policy 2010 Implementation Procedures - Student Representation - HCPSS and sign the Rules and Expectations Signature Page.

Student Member of the Board Campaign April 3, 2024-May1, 2024
The HCASC Advisor and Superintendent Designee will review the rules and expectations for the campaign process with the candidates, their parents/ guardians, and their campaign teams. Until then, no campaigning may occur.

Student Member of the Board Election May 1, 2024
All middle and high schools will hold a general election in accordance with Policy 2010 on May 1, 2024. For more information, please visit the HCASC student-created Student Member of the Board Process Portal.

February 23, 2024: Completed application due by 4:00 p.m.
February 27, 2024: Meeting of SMOB Applicants and a parent/guardian
March 5, 2024: SMOB Applicant Training Session
March 12, 2024: SMOB Applicant Training Session
March 14, 2024: Delegate Training for all middle and high school delegates
March 20, 2024: SMOB Convention     
March 21, 2024: Meeting of final candidates and their parent/guardian
April 2, 2024: Training for final candidates and their campaign teams
April 3, 2024: Campaign window opens for final candidates
April 17, 2024: Final candidate forum hosted by HCASC students
May 1, 2024: Election in middle and high schools for grades 6-11
