Members of the Board of Education and Acting Superintendent Mr. William J. Barnes invite three (3) student representatives from each school to join them for a Student Leadership opportunity on April 25 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. The Howard County Association of Student Councils (HCASC) will facilitate the event in Board Rooms A and B at the Department of Education building. The BOE Chair, Ms. Jennifer Swickard Mallo, and Mr. Barnes will speak briefly at the beginning and then students will hold discussions at tables with HCPSS leaders.

This opportunity to directly engage with school system leaders will allow students to expand their perspectives through dynamic interaction with people and content they previously may have thought inaccessible. Students will participate in discussions with Central Office administrators regarding topics chosen by students on issues related to HCPSS and their school community.

Students must provide their own transportation and turn in a completed permission form by April 19.
